Working From Home
What Is Networking?
Networking. We’ve all heard of it but what exactly is it? Fancy business breakfasts or relaxed coffee shop meets? Well the answer is it can be both. If you ask Google to give you an answer you’re greeted with ‘The action or process of interacting with others to exchange information and develop professional or social contacts.’ Now doesn’t that sound fun? No, we don’t think so either.
Why Should You Network?
When was the last time you attended a networking event? And by that we don’t mean a coffee with a close friend who sometimes gives you business advice, we mean a focused event to meet and mingle with other business professionals. If your answer to that question is never then you aren’t alone, and now could be the time to change that.
There’s a perception that networking is merely pushy business people exchanging business cards and building favours. As we touched on in our last article, it’s about building long-term relationships with a like-minded group of people. It’s about making those mutually-beneficial connections to drive the success of each other’s businesses.
What Should You Wear To Network?
We’ve looked at why networking is important and why you should be doing it, now we are going to focus on what to wear. This is a question we all ask ourselves whenever we’re going somewhere new or doing something out of our comfort zone. We aren’t going to tell you the exact outfits to wear but we’ve compiled a few pointers for you to consider.
